Pierre Ouillet
Vice President of Finance, Resources & Operations, University of BC, Canada
Pierre Ouillet is Vice-President Resources and Operations at the
University of British Columbia, one of North America's largest
public research and teaching institutions, and consistently ranked
among the world's best.
As part of his role, Pierre acts as Chief Financial Officer with
oversight over a $2 billion operating budget across UBC's Vancouver
and Okanagan campuses. Pierre is also responsible for managing
UBC's Infrastructure, Building Operations and Ancillary businesses
including Student Hospitality, the Bookstore, Parking, and
Security. He has oversight over Campus and Community Planning for
both the Academic Precinct and University Town, a socially and
environmentally sustainable community of 15,000 residents in Point
Grey. Pierre is also a Board Member for UBC Investment Management
Trust and UBC Properties Trust, the enterprise responsible for all
market and institutional development on UBC lands.
Since joining UBC in 2009, Pierre first focused on streamlining
and simplifying University's operations while building a
sustainable economic model for the long term. Pierre then partnered
with UBC faculties to turn UBC and University Town into a living
laboratory that will position British Columbia as a global
innovation hub for the green economy.
Prior to joining UBC, Pierre held several leadership positions
for Best Buy International, in Retail, Merchandising, and in
Finance where he had responsibility over 2,000 stores in Canada,
China, Mexico and Europe. Pierre was also an Associate Principal
with McKinsey & Company for six years, leading strategic growth
or operational improvement initiatives across Europe and North
America. He started his career as an Aerospace Engineer in France
and in the US.
Pierre has a Master of Science from University of Maryland, a
Master of Business Administration from INSEAD and he is a Certified
General Accountant.
