measures to minimize the social and environmental impacts (and
enhance the positive impacts) of hydropower developments with
specific examples direct from the field.

Power Generation: Renewable Energy " Te Mihi Geothermal
Project. Presenter: Martin Lenzin. A joint venture EPC contract for
a new 166 MW geothermal plant northwest of Taupo, New Zealand.
11:30 am - 12:00 noon
"Sustainability in Coal-Fired Power Generation".
SaskPower Boundry Dam ICCS Demonstration Facility. Presenter: Rick
Comacchio. SNC-Lavalin developed the process and front-end
engineering designs and is executing the engineering, procurement
and construction (EPC) design/build portion while integrating CO2
and SO2 technologies.
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm "Partnering
for Sustainable Solutions"
SNC-Lavalin strives to promote, inform and
collaborate with our clients to integrate sustainability in every
project's entire lifecycle. Hear from SNC-Lavalin and six partner
firms about these collaborations and about opportunities for new
partnerships. Presenting firms: Fraser Basin Council;
Seven Generations Environmental Services Ltd.; ESSA Technologies
Ltd.; Clearford Industries Inc.; EEM; NovaTec Consultants
Inc.
Seven Generations is
equally owned by six Stó:lō First Nations communities.
Richard Seward of Coast Salish heritage will be singing and
drumming in traditional First Nations regalia. Additionally, Grand
Chief Joe Hall from one of the other owner communities will be
saying a few words.
